Academic Resources

UBC Student Housing and Hospitality Services recognizes the commitment that students are making to achieve academic success, and strives to promote residence as a valuable tool to help them on their way. This means that residents will be provided with three things during their time with us, regardless of the area they live in:

  • An environment conducive to effective studying and learning
  • The best academic resources that UBC has to offer
  • The opportunity to forge meaningful relationships with peers, mentors, and faculty members.

Please continue to check this section for tips and links to help you down the path of your academic career! Feel free to contact your advisor if you have any questions or want to get involved.

Do You Live In Totem Park or Place Vanier? Join The A-Team!

The Academic Committee brings speakers and workshops to our first-year residences, and helps students to look at academics in fresh and creative ways! Students are encouraged to come and get involved - for information on meeting times, just approach a member of the committee or your Advisor!

iStudy - Do You?

iStudy is an online service which links residents to other students who share the same courses and a residence area. Want a study buddy? Missed a class and need an update? Find what you're looking for by signing up for iStudy!

Study Spaces in Residence

Need a change of scenery but don't want to walk too far? Your commons block has several different kinds of study spaces.

For more information on how study spaces are used in residence, feel free to browse our video tours of each area.
